Chef Pat won First Place in the Louisiana State Parks Annual Rib Cook off two yrs ago. Working wonders with food, serving the patrons of the NEWROOM Ministries, Chef Pat enjoys cooking tremendously.

How the bountiful table @ the NEWROOM came to be
I found myself approaching retirement, a desire to minister to people compelled a soul searching. Through much prayer, support and encouragement of my family doors began to open. Cooking classes from professional chef's was one of the first things to kind of fall in my lap. Soon following were some catering services to members of our church family. Some pre-cooked dinner meals placed by others in the our communities. Cooking had long been a joy for me.
The Lord began to lay on my heart the need to provide myself and my family with healthy menu planning and meal preparation. And it began to all to come together (part of a bigger picture I had no vision of). Preparing healthy meals and being conscious of dietary needs has become a part of my daily routine.
While God was putting things into order, setting all of the schematics into place, he began to stir in my heart, speaking to me. Knowing I needed to listen, yet stalling out of fear(we do not have control when God has control!) I began talking to others about what my role might be, "The bountiful table" a feeding ministry providing healthy meals to patrons of the NEWROOM was being formed. We share nourishment for the heart as well as the belly.I enjoy cooking a variety of meals from home cooking to elegant multi course meals! I hope you will follow my blog and we can share together as I FEED THE FLOCK through "the bountiful table."
The New Room is always welcomes hard working volunteers! Cooks, servers, clean up crews, persons to work in a food pantry (providing supplemental groceries) persons to work in the clothing closet (sorting donations of clothing, hanging, distributing etc)We will put use of groceries! Cleaning supplies, Your Time!
